Hello everyone,
I’m planning to use Dynare with MATLAB to run DSGE models for my research. Before purchasing, I’d like to clarify whether the MATLAB Student Version is sufficient for running Dynare (including estimation and simulation features), or if I would need to purchase the full MATLAB license for researchers instead.
Specifically, I’d like to know if there are any limitations in the Student Version that could affect Dynare’s functionality — for example, restrictions in toolboxes, optimization routines, or model size.
Any guidance or experience from others who have tried Dynare with the Student Version would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much for your help!
Best regards,
Michelle
Edit: P.S I am from a developing country, and my institution only provides a limited range of software, which unfortunately does not include MATLAB. The Student Version is still affordable for me, but the researcher license is financially out of reach since I have to self-fund the cost of the software. (in case anyone may ask why I am not reaching out to my institution)
