In a lot of paper, the authors show ‘calibration targets’ and ‘calibration values’ which are the values assigned to parameters. I’m struggling to understand how you derive the values from the targets. Is it estimated? How do I figure out what to estimate exactly, in that case? Below is an example from one such paper.
