Thank you @jpfeifer, the unstable version solved the issue.

Now when I am using a fourth or fifth order approximation the simulated values explode. The third-order approximation works, but shocks in the exogenous variable deviate from the actual values that I am feeding in.

It seems there is nothing you can do right now. Order=3 is not accurate enough, but pruning is not implemented yet.
