At a minimum, you need to provide sensible initial values, e.g. not 0 for variables that must not be 0.

For a model of that size, I can only recommend computing the steady state analytically. If you really use initial values that work in other papers with the same model and the same parameters, it is likely there is a mistake in the model equations that prevents finding a steady state
