Evolution of population

Dear everyone,

I have a rather silly question. When having:

POP(t) = (1+ growth rate of pop (t)) * POP (t-1)

How do you find the steady state on dynare for POP? The growth rate is exogenous, but then if I follow the steady state rule, I would have in my steady state file:

POP(ss) = (1+ growth rate of pop (ss)) * POP (ss) → growth rate of pop (ss) = -1 …

Thank you

That equation does not have a steady state, unless properly detrended.
