Hello everyone,

I have a quick question regarding determinacy/indeterminacy graphs in dynare.

I am running the code below to check where my model is determinate for different values of Delta and phi\_pi. However, it turns out that the graphs that I obtain are different when I calibrate different initial values of Delta and I don’t understand why because my steady-state is invariant on Delta (which is a share of constrained agents in my model). Normally because I do the loop on Delta I should have the same graph no matter what is the initial value no ?
Can someone understand why I get such a weird thing ? Maybe there is something I am doing wrong in the code.
Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hugo

phi\_pi\_vec=linspace(0,5,100);
Delta\_vec=linspace(0,1,100);
[phi\_pi\_mat,Delta\_mat]=meshgrid(phi\_pi\_vec,Delta\_vec);
info\_mat=NaN(size(phi\_pi\_mat));
if isempty(options\_.qz\_criterium)
options\_.qz\_criterium = 1+1e-6;
end
for phi\_pi\_iter=1:length(phi\_pi\_vec)
for Delta\_iter=1:length(Delta\_vec)
set\_param\_value(‘phi\_pi’,phi\_pi\_mat(phi\_pi\_iter,Delta\_iter));
set\_param\_value(‘Delta’,Delta\_mat(phi\_pi\_iter,Delta\_iter));
[dr,info]=resol(0,M\_,options\_,oo\_);
info\_mat(phi\_pi\_iter,Delta\_iter)=info(1);
end
end
Z\_plot=zeros(size(info\_mat));
Z\_plot(info\_mat==0)=1;
figure(‘Name’,‘The Determinacy Region’)
contourf(phi\_pi\_mat,Delta\_mat,Z\_plot,1)
xlabel(‘\phi\_\pi’)
ylabel(‘\Delta’)

I would need to see the full codes to replicate the issue.

Dear Professor,

Thanks for your quick reply but I found where was the issue. It cames from the interaction with another parameters.

Have a good day.

Best regards,

Hugo
